St Marys Grade School was well represented at the Pottawatomie County Spelling Bee. Sean and Josh made it multiple rounds competing against 12 other students from the county. Josh was declared the champion and will represent his county and our school at the State Spelling Bee. Congrats to both on a huge accomplishment!

Congratulations to Klayton R. for getting a Pawsitive call home from Mr. Medley! Talk about being READY, Ms. Serb reports that Klayton has been participating in class discussions, keeping good notes, and contributing politely by raising his hand when he has a question or an answer. Nicely done Klayton!

SMGS STUCO sold candy canes during the month of December as well as worked a concession stand during the high school basketball games. Their hard work has led to raising a little over $400 that will be used for updating some recess balls and other equipment!

Kaw Valley USD 321 is aware of the nationwide data breach of PowerSchool, a service we use for Student Information. It is still unclear if our data was part of this breach. PowerSchool has advised us that they have corrected the issues that lead to the breach. We are currently awaiting more information and guidance from Powerschool. Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to begin resets of passwords for Parent and Student passwords. We will be sending out more information as soon as possible with any instructions you may need for accessing your accounts. -- Scott Griffin Director of Technology Kaw Valley USD 321
