Business Ads for the 24-25 Yearbook The 24-25 yearbook is currently accepting orders for business advertisements. If you would like to purchase space for your business, please reach out to yearbook@usd321.com to receive an order form. Prices are as follows: $50 for 1/8 page, $75 for 1/4 page, $120 for 1/2 page, and $180 for full page. Thank you very much for your support of our school!
FFA Egg My Yard FFA Egg My Yard is open for orders! FFA Members need to bring Easter Candy to stuff eggs sometime in March. You must donate Easter candy to participate at FFA Kiddie Barnyard. JH Cheer Practice/Tryouts JH cheerleading tryout practices on Monday, March 24th; Tuesday, March 25th; & Friday, March 28th @ 5:30pm in the JH gym. Tryouts will be on Saturday, March 29th @ 9:00am.
JH Band Performance Monday March 31st-Junior High Band will perform at the Shawnee Heights Band Festival at 10:00 am. Transportation will leave @ 8:15am.

HS T&F Parent Meeting The HS T&F team will be holding a parent meeting on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 5:15 pm. This meeting will be held in the SM Commons area. State FBLA State FBLA is on Monday, March 31st and Tuesday April 1st, for those that signed up. We will leave at 7:30 AM both days.
KSHAA Regional Solo & Ensemble Festival KSHAA Regional Solo & Ensemble Festival on Saturday, April 5th @ Benedictine College in Atchison. Transportation will leave @ 6:15am.
Big Sun Scholarship The Big Sun Scholarship will award a $500 scholarship to a senior who participated in athletics. Apply at: http://www.bigsunathletics.com. The deadline is June 19th.
Manhattan Cross Country Club Scholarship in honor of Marvin Hachmeister Application materials are posted on Google Classroom for the 2025 Manhattan Cross Country Club Scholarship in honor of Marvin Hachmeister. Please share with senior student/athletes who have participated in cross country or track and field – or both. We intend to award several scholarships this year, valued at $500 each. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and must be planning to participate in either cross country or track and field at the collegiate level next year. The application deadline is April 1 and the selection committee will announce winners by May 1.
O'Brate Foundation Traditional College Scholarship Application The O'Brate Foundation Traditional College Scholarship Application for the 2025-2026 academic year is NOW OPEN at https://obrate.smapply.org/. The deadline for completing the application is May 1, 2025. We STRONGLY recommend EARLY SUBMISSIONS. AWARDS The scholarship awards are based on financial need and will vary in size from $500 to $5,000 annually. This year we will be awarding approximately 50 to 55 Renewable scholarships, so we would appreciate your help by encouraging only students who meet the financial qualifications to apply for this need-based scholarship.
Chapter HX P.E.O. Deadline 3/24/25 Senior Girls: Chapter HX P.E.O. is seeking applications for our annual scholarship. These will be awarded this spring to senior girls from Rossville, Silver Lake, and St. Marys high schools. The announcement will be made at our spring awards assembly. Enclosed is the scholarship application form to be completed by any senior girl with a "B" average or above who is planning to further her education next fall. The application is posted on Google Classroom. Please turn in the scholarship apps to Ms. Heitman and she will pass them along.
2025 KACRAO Scholarship The 2025 KACRAO Scholarship form is up and running at www.kacrao.org/kacrao-scholarship. You can also find it on the KACRAO website under the High School Counselors Tab, listed as KACRAO Scholarship. Glenn Lygrisse/KACRAO Scholarship The Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (KACRAO) offers scholarships to reward students who have demonstrated quality leadership during their high school years. There are four $500 awards available each academic year, which may be used at KACRAO member institutions. The scholarships will be designated as follows; one per school type: four-year public, four-year private, community college, and technical college. The awards are not need-based and may be used in conjunction with other awards. To be eligible for consideration for these scholarships, students must: · Be in their senior year at a Kansas high school; · have a cumulative seventh semester GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale; · plan to attend a KACRAO member institution in Kansas in the Fall 2025 semester. Students will be required to submit three documents with their application. If they do not have the ability to upload the required documents, please email the documents to: scholarshipcommittee@kacrao.org by March 28, 2025. 2025 Scholarship Application The Application Deadline is March 28, 2025. Footsteps to Your Future Fall Scholarship Due July 4 We're excited to announce our $1,000 Footsteps to Your Future Fall Scholarship for students studying during the Fall 2025 . All applications must be submitted through the online form included in the application, here: Eligibility Requirements: To participate in the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria: Be a US citizen or Permanent Legal Resident of the United States Be an undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior entering the Fall 2025 semester Have a minimum 3.0 GPA Pursuing a degree (open to all majors) Be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university for the Fall 2025 semester Submit a 300–400 word essay answering the following question: " Success is built step by step, and every experience shapes the path ahead. Describe how your education, extracurricular activities, work experience, volunteer efforts, and personal initiatives are helping you take confident strides toward your future career and aspirations." KSOffice of the State Bank Commissioner's 11th Annual KS Financial Scho We would like to share that the Kansas Office of the State Bank Commissioner's 11th Annual Kansas Financial Scholars Essay Contest is open and available to high school seniors who will continue their education here in Kansas. Five winners will be awarded a $5,000 scholarship based on an essay that covers topics surrounding financial literacy. Please help us share this great opportunity with high school seniors in your community. Essays and entry forms are due on April 1, 2025. Jere F. Miller Charitable Trust Scholarship Application Due 3/31/25 Jere F. Miller Charitable Trust Scholarship Application Requirements & Information: 1. $1,000 per year scholarship, renewable up to four years. It will be awarded to two (2) St. Marys High School seniors planning to attend a 4-year college, a 2-year college, a technical school, or a vocational/trade school. 2. This scholarship is based on financial need. Please include the EFC- Expected Family Contribution Amount from you FAFSA form: __________________________ 3. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required in high school and in subsequent years of post secondary education 4. An essay of 200 or more words regarding the student's financial need, goals, and future plans 5. Must complete 12 college hours or a full-time technical school schedule 6. This scholarship will be paid after the student complete the first semester at school and has enrolled for the second semester 7. Kansas Education Opportunity Scholarship Due 5/1/25 We are excited to announce that the Kansas Education Opportunity Scholarship application for the 2025-2026 year is open and we already have quite a few students applying. The Kansas Education Opportunity Scholarship is intended to assist first-generation college students and/or dependents of teachers and paraprofessionals in Kansas with their first undergraduate degree. This scholarship is both need-based and merit-based; recipients are selected based on academic proficiency and financial need as determined by federal methodology. Priority in awarding is given to graduating high school seniors entering their first year of college. Additional information about this scholarship can be found on our website and you can access a PDF copy of the brochure from our website at: Ed Opp 25-26.pub If you haven't already, you will soon see an influx of students asking you to complete the Kansas Education Opportunity Scholarship High School Verification Form. Sunflower Girls State Sunflower Girls State is a week-long leadership camp for high school girls, offering immersive experiences in community building and civic leadership. Juniors and Seniors: Cadet Law Enforcement Academy The Cadet Law Enforcement Academy, co-sponsored by the Kansas American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary and Kansas Highway Patrol, is held every summer at the Kansas Highway Patrol Training Academy in Salina, Kansas. The deadline to apply is April 15. Cadet Law is not intended to recruit future law enforcement personnel. Instead, it offers high school students the opportunity to gain knowledge regarding training and responsibilities of law enforcement officials. Upon graduation students should better understand, respect and appreciate law enforcement personnel at all levels. To qualify for the Academy, applicants must be in their junior or senior year of high school with a "C" average scholastically and be physically able to participate in all activities. Training is provided by qualified instructors from the Kansas Highway Patrol. Dates: June 15-20 at the Kansas Highway Patrol Training Academy in Salina, KS. The Kansas Education Opportunity Scholarship is intended to assist first-generation college students and/or dependents of teachers and paraprofessionals in Kansas with their first undergraduate degree. The application for 2025-26 school year will open on February 1, 2025. Deadline: May 1 The Kansas Hero's Scholarship Act (KSA 75-4364) establishes a waiver which provides an opportunity for eligible dependents and spouses of certain deceased/disabled public safety officers and military personnel to attend an eligible public Kansas postsecondary educational institution without payment of tuition and required fees. Please watch this space in April 2025 for information about the 2025-26 application. The Kansas Military Service Scholarship is available for the payment of tuition and fees at a public Kansas institution for students who are a resident of Kansas and has: served in military service in international waters or on foreign soil in support of military operations for which the person received hostile fire pay for at least 90 days after September 11, 2001, or served less than such 90 days because of injuries during such military service; has received an honorable discharge or under honorable conditions (general) discharge from military service or is still in military service; and has provided copies of military discharge papers (DD-214 form) or active duty orders whichever such paper or order indicate the location of such person's deployment and indicate the person has served after September 11, 2001, in any military operation for which the person received hostile fire pay. Priority Date: May 1. The Kansas National Guard Educational Assistance provides a percentage of tuition and fees paid; up to a maximum rate not to exceed the maximum rate that would be charged by the state educational institutions for enrollment. The percentage is determined by the number of eligible students and available appropriations. Deadlines: Spring 2025 semester - January 31, 2025; Fall 2025 semester - August 31, 2025; Spring 2026 semester - January 31, 2026 The Kansas Nursing Service Scholarship requires an obligation to practice as an LPN or RN in Kansas. If the student wishes, they can have a sponsor and receive more funding. An eligible sponsor means any adult care home, psychiatric hospital, medical care facility, home health agency, local health department or any state agency, which employs LPNs or RNs, licensed by the State of Kansas.
